What Do I Do If the Walls are Condensated?

Modified on Wed, 20 Dec 2023 at 07:37 PM

Condensation on walls can be caused by high humidity levels, poor ventilation, and other factors.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and clean walls due to condensation:

  • Identify the cause: Determine the source of the condensation. Common causes include high humidity levels, lack of ventilation, and poor insulation.
  • Reduce humidity levels: Reduce humidity levels in your home by using a dehumidifier, improving ventilation, and avoiding activities that add moisture to the air (such as cooking, showering, and doing laundry).
  • Clean the walls: Clean the affected walls with a solution of water and mild soap, and then dry them thoroughly. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the paint or wallpaper.
    • Please make sure to buy a suitable product to get rid of it.
    • If the situation does not change in a week, please open a new Help Request in order to schedule an appointment with a contractor if it is necessary.
  • Ventilate the room: Ventilate the room by opening windows and using a fan to increase air flow and reduce humidity levels.

By following these steps, you can effectively clean walls due to condensation and prevent it from recurring.

The flat must be sufficiently ventilated even on cold days to avoid this kind of situation. This is done by opening the windows every day as briefly as possible, but sufficiently.

If you followed all of the steps above but the issue is not resolved, please create a Help Request through our Member's Portal or your Habyt App.
